You will explore the game through the eyes of your character. The Old colony wants to trade ore with the king, the New colony refuses to give up the ore they mine, and the Brotherhood of Sleepers wants to escape from the colony. Your character’s history will depend on which society or camp you join in. This allows you to interact with the world through the history and culture of your character. Gothic is unlike other role-playing games, as it doesn’t limit your capabilities and gameplay to the landscape. Your job is to set prisoners of the Sleeper’s temple free. This will be used to forge powerful weapons against the orcs that invade Myrtana. Its king, King Rhobar II, needs a massive supply of magical ore. The game is set in the fictional kingdom of Myrtana.
