Instead of emulating a controller, this fix injects raw mouse input directly into the game’s camera functions, thereby avoiding any additional transformations. Using the cursor in the UI is also a hassle, because it has to be manually enabled and disabled via keybindings. Because it emulates a controller, there are still some issues with sensitivity, apparent negative acceleration and overall sluggish movement.

If you encounter any problems see the Contact And Support section on how to get in touch with meĪlthough there already is a mouse fix for Dark Souls, which did a great job in helping many people (including me) to play the game with mouse and keyboard over the years, it is not an optimal solution. Although it underwent some thorough testing before the first public release, there might still be some issues that need to be addressed. You can download the fix from PC Gaming Wiki here or from Nexusmods here. It offers a flexible binding system, automatic cursor support for the UI, improved targeting and an easy configuration using a GUI. the timing of the inputs was tricky and you needed to have a certain rhythm to it to trigger it right. This fix makes Dark Souls use raw mouse input without any additional smoothing or acceleration. Issue 3: certain attacks seemed to not work right on m+kb, i think like the Jump Attack. my memory is fuzzy but i remember having issues trying to climb down a ladder when there was a readable message in the way, or switching between 1 hand grip and 2 hand grip with messages. Issue 2: i think that certain prompts showed the incorrect input for the keyboard, or some were shared. Or you could just map it to a key and use that instead. so i could still click to attack but with no delay. in my mouse software i just remapped the left click to a key and bound attack to that key. Issue 1: i believe in DS2 there was a bug with the mouse buttons, if you clicked to attack, there would be input delay. Controller will solve a couple headaches, just buy a PDP xbox controller for like $20-30, plug it in and it's perfect. i have a combined 350+ hours in the first two DS games with mouse+keyboard only. It is fine for gameplay, but there might be some bugs that I found workarounds for.
